2021 GMC Sierra Whining Sound when gas is pressed and released

Recommended Posts

My truck is making a whining noise when the engine is turned on, gas is pressed, and when I release it as well.  Its almost like the tune of the whining stays in tune with the rpm level of the motor.  For example, I press the gas, and the whining gets louder and stays in tune with the motor, and when I let off the gas and coast, then it whines down with the motor.  This has been happening for about a week now.  Looking for help

My truck has whined since new almost 8 years now, i have brought it to my dealer at least 20 times for it and every time they play dumb and tell me they can't hear it or say it's normal. I ve tried other dealer and have had the same response. I know for a fact it is not normal and imo it is the torque converter but i have had no luck getting GM to play ball with it. Good luck to you and hope you get a better tech than myself, lucky it hasn't led to any issues but i also only have 50,000 miles on it.

You need the Whine-O-Meter, its right beside the board stretchers at your local hardware store 😉

All joking aside, keep driving it to the point that it pisses you off so much you go into the dealership angry. AND don't leave there until you have an answer on how they are going to fix it. This is the important part. You won't take no for an answer, you won't take, "we've done all we can do" for an answer, you won't take any answer other then, "We'll get your truck fixed right".

You must be royally pissed off, with a get out of my way attitude. Ask for the service manager if you have to. And most importantly be respectful. This isn't personal, you say and do all the right things but you be as big of pain in the ass that you can be.

People don't care about you, your truck, or whether or not it whines. You want change, you have to make the change happen.

I have a 2022 sierra 1500 denali and the whining noise between 25-40mph is un bearable! I would expect a truck of this price and quality to be way more quiet inside the cabin! My 2015 f-150 was significantly quieter! Im trading in my GMC for a ford f-150 this weekend!

For what the new GMC sierra Denali I expected more comfort and quiet for what the truck cost….
