S&B Cold Air Intake

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I have a 2021 3500 AT4 with the duramax. I want to install a S&B cold air intake. If I change it, will it throw the check engine light? I know it will on the 1500’s. It says it won’t on the website, but I just want to verify before I purchase it. Thanks!

Not sure about the S&B intake but I just ordered the Banks intake and it comes with a different sensor to compensate for the increased airflow to prevent throwing a check engine light.  Haven’t received it yet to verify but everything else I’ve gotten from Banks has been super great quality and I doubt this will be any different.  You may wanna check it out.

I just installed the S&B intake into my 2500 AT4 and have put about 40 miles on it with no issues. The install was a bit more challenging than other intakes I’ve installed since it’s a tight fit.

As long as you follow the instructions to a T and disable the air filter life setting prior to starting the install you shouldn’t have any CEL issues. Also, make sure you disconnect both batteries and leave them disconnected for a minimum of two hours before reconnecting.
