Need constant power closer rear bumper

Recommended Posts

on my 2010 i used the 7pin trailer connector. their is a constant 12V there that has more power than you might need. You may have to connect it at the fuse box though as they are not factory connected.

I've got an 03 Silverado that I'm adding a 12 volt port on my rear bumper. Where is the closest place to tap into to get power besides the battery that has power constantly?

Don't you have a 7-Way trailer port back there?  The red wire is 12V and is not connected from the factory on my generation, like Ian said.  The wire is taped up under the brake booster and connects to the studs on the fuse box to power it up.  Then you can use one of those 12v adapters in your trailer plug or whatever you decide.

Your owner's manual should articulate this better than I.
