Lift on composite leaf springs?

That’s the bracket on mine. No need for a rounded U bolt here.

(Yes, the block’s apparently shifted some. It’s still tight though.)

I’m guessing GM changed up a little bit on the refresh to great another challenge lolE6E12F38-65CD-4B79-AA64-B7E57179769C.thumb.jpeg.1dde1af4a5c7b74d39b1943ba4f94edf.jpeg

Yeah apparently my 22 has the mono leaf which is throwing me off a little. I’m not sure how different it is than the pre-refresh other than a single leaf.

2019-2021 the trucks that had the carbon composite springs, it was just the overload spring (biggest one at the bottom).  It is still a 3 spring leaf pack, 2 are steel, one is composite.

Your truck is the second one online I've seen with this new mono spring.  What trim level is your truck?  Chevy?  GMC?  From the parts catalog I do know that this mono spring design is crew cab short box 4x4 only so far, so not every truck has it.  My LT 2.7HO CC Short for example has the traditional 3 leaf pack all steel.

Has anyone with composite leaf springs lifted the truck? If so, what did you use/do? My understanding is no one has a kit for this and the u bolts are rounded so you can’t use just any block and u bolt from a kit like Zone, BDS, RC, etc. Any experience or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

I just realized that you are the one with the single spring truck LOL.

To answer your lift question.  For now it would appear that a rear spring conversion would be the only course of action until the lift companies have a lift solution for these trucks that have the new mono leaf.  Flipping through everyone's instructions on a 6 inch lift, they only show standard leaf spring trucks.

GM sells a steel spring kit that's for adding on the 2 inch lift they sell to convert from the trucks that have the 3 leaf that's 2 steel with the lower composite, so you'd need those most likely.

I mean...could always throw a block under the monoleaf.  Get longer U bolts and run with it.  Not sure what the difference would be between the block and the spring perch anyway.

Haven't seen a monoleaf like that in a long time.  Ford used to run them under low options, low weight rating 4 cyl, regular cab 2wd Rangers back in the 90's.

Thanks for that.

Just out of further curiosity, what is the payload on your truck in the door jamb tag?

Max payload is 1690 lbs. It’s a pretty thick leaf.

I’ve got a 2020 LT 5.3 with composite springs. Lifted the back with 1.5 tapered blocks. So far no issues but I’m not doing any heavy off-roading.

Found out my 2022 Sierra I just picked up has this god awful 1 piece spring with the rounded ubolts. Can't bolt up my 2.25" ready lift blocks now that I took off my 21 Silverado. Anyone have a ubolt specs on these? Same 9/16" thickness as the square bolts?

That’s what I’m trying to find out too. I don’t want to have to buy new leaf springs. The monoleaf composite spring seems wider than the standard steel springs too so I’m concerned about a block fitting under it.

This was discussed at length very recently, look in the archives

Yeah unfortunately the only thing I can find is the threads with 2 steel leafs with a composite overload spring. Maybe I’m looking in the wrong place on here.
