New Chevy owner here, need help with my 5.3 Vortec.

Hi folks,

Just bought myself an LS3 to put into my BMW E46. I'm currently trying to buy a reseal kit and was looking at summit racing's options. They have a couple different ci options for the 5.3L, and I was wondering if anyone knew the best way to identify this on my motor? Summit has different seal kits for 322, 325, and 327, and I need a reseal kit before i can continue with my project. Does anyone else know a good place to get seal kits?

An LS3 is a 6.2 engine, so you really need to be looking there. The 5.3's are truck engines that run different seals. The valley cover seal and the oil pan gasket for one are totally different between a LS3 and a 5.3 engine.

 

So what did you actually buy? Can't say it's an LS3 if it ain't an LS3.
