Try looking at the underhood fuse block. I have had a couple of trucks over the years with intermittent electrical issues that turned out to be a loose connector where the fuse plugs in. A simple tweak of the fuse makes the contact better and solved the problem. I dont recall if theres a left and right fuse for the turn signals on that era of truck,  I would start there by trying to duplicate it with wiggling the fuses.
