Rack and pinion to hd gear box

Recommended Posts

Has anyone thought about converting their electronic rack and pinion to the hd steering assist gear box?

Sure. Give me a few as work has me busy. Food for thought. The ecm would likely need programing, the tierod ends are likely different as are mounting points. I'd bet the mounting for the gear box would need to be thought through and fabbed up if possible. Maybe the vacuum pump is in the way? I'll check when I get some free time and get back to ya.

Fab work isn’t a problem. I’m in the process of trying to find some f250 axles to go under my truck and convert the steering to hd steering. I keep breaking the half ton steering housings

I should be able to drop the plastic this weekend and checkout the steering on the HD what were you needing from the HD? The 1500 just got dropped off at the transmission shop for a rebuild and will be back in a week or so.

The whole set up. The suspension is gonna get completely redone within the next month and I’m changing it completely over to an hd set up
