Speaking of entertainment, have I mentioned the dash screen layout would make any Hollywood director blush with its crystal clear pixels, and theater-esque sound? All this, good sir, in the LT model 😉

I won't make this a regular update as who really cares 🤣 but, mileage is about dead on the same as the 6 speed 20-23's with this 10 speed.

One thing I have noticed is the resistance while driving and coasting while in gear and off the gas, the 10 speed definitely has a lot more "resistance" with the drivetrain. Almost the same feeling I had driving my 6 speed in 4-HI. Not THAT bad of drivetrain resistance, but only way I can compare the feeling.

Thanks for the update. That extra resistance is not good to me. I use that off throttle coasting as much as possible. It helps a bit with mileage. Coast off freeway, to stoplights ect.

are you experiencing any gear hunting while driving? I’ve read a couple ppl saying that’s a thing as it is with the Fords.

No "gear hunting" at all and I just passed 500 miles on the odometer. Very seamless driving experience and my wife mentioned how smooth it is compared to our previous truck.

I don't want to overstate the resistance I notice from my previous post. Driving on the county road hills in town that I would coast down on with my 2021 and gain 3-6mph (60mph road and at the bottom typically at 64mph) I am gaining about the same in my 2024. Downshifting off throttle and braking is so much nicer in the new rig as well.

The transmission also has a nice "whine" like my last Allison 1000 I owned years ago. Perception is definitely reality when you hear and feel how these new transmissions drive as they "feel" heavier duty.

I have the exact same thought. I saw a few trucks when I was in the market with 80+ miles. No thanks. Mine had 7mi and I wish it was less but it was acceptable.

The reason I stopped buying used is because most people are not like the automotive lovers forum guys are. They are slobs who don’t even do standard maintenance until they are about to unload their problems onto unsuspecting customers. Whenever you see an advertisement that says fresh oil change and ice cold air; RUN.

Mine was ordered and had 6 miles on it when it arrived at the dealer. The test drives at the factory are included in the odometer. 80 miles is one thing, but I would be worried if my vehicle had 0 miles on it. That means it was never tested.

When I bought my 2021 GMC, I had to drive 5 hours away to get it May of 2021. Dealer I bought from had two 2500 gassers available. The one I wanted was that maroon color with tan leather two tone interior. I absolutely loved it.

Day before I left I called and asked the sales guy what the odometer read, and he goes "480 miles or so." I said I'm out and won't buy it. He said the dealership owner only used it to tow his tandem axle bbq smoker. I told him, "I'm out." Sales guy completely understood and felt bad he hadn't told me in our earlier conversations.  I then asked about the other gasser, which was black on black and had only a handful of miles. I told him I'll take that one, which I did.
