Mid-Length Headers

Recommended Posts

I have a 2018 Silverado L83 (Gen V) and I want to install a set of Mid-Length headers to keep the exhaust "Tucked Under" the truck. Since "Shorty's is kind of a waste of money for making power, and Long tubes are great for power, but kind of hang down to far for lowered vehicles, I need the Mid-Length. Now NOBOBY makes them specifically for the GenV trucks and they make a boat load for "LS Swap" motors. Has anybody tried to fit the LS Swap headers on the Gen V trucks or come up with any other solution? it would be great to hear for the group.

The header flange is different, so you'd have to work past that. It would be a custom one off unit you are trying to do here. Not worth the effort.

Not cheap but both Kooks and ARH longtubes are more of a mid-length header design. I know they are considered longtubes but the Y-pipe doesn’t appear to hang any lower then the stock manifolds and y-pipe. My Texas Speed headers are tucked under the frame but you can see the driver side highflow cat hanging below the frame.

I have a set of kooks ill sell you. I got sick of the noise so I took them off

Are they for a Gen V LS (5.3), and how much?

and what about the noise, can you expound on that?

They're 1 7/8, with race cats. Fits l83 and l86. I'm in Canada.

With headers it makes the engine sound like a sewing machine. You hear the valve train, injectors, everything... plus exhaust noise was excessive. It was fun for a bit but eventually it wears on you. Butt dyno can't tell a difference.

Where at in Canada? And what do you want for them?

I'm in Calgary.

I might try and sell them locally first. Not sure what I want for them, brand new is 3 grand usd; I also had them ceramic coated.
