Clear Coat Warranty?

Recommended Posts

I am still under bumper to bumper warranty on my 2020 Z71 RST truck. I went through lots of bugs on a recent trip.  When I was washing them off at a car wash, I saw the clear coat split and come off. There was no rock damage to that area. Is that covered under the warranty? TIA.

One would think?  If you still have warranty. Take it in and get it fixed.  Be stern but be respectful and stand your ground!  Too many people fold when told no or can't do it. If it states bumper to bumper and that's what you have. Ask them to fix it. These trucks gave gotten out of hand in terms in money.  They need to hold up and last for a very long time for the price tags!

Or pull out (or download) the warranty manual and read about the coverage.

Some 'environmental' paint issues are covered 12 mo/12,000mi

If bugs hit then rocks can and is exactly what happened. Paint on all vehicles is much thinner these days, need to do a clear bra on metal painted parts to protect it or it will chip. Probably SOL on paint parts like that on the front end after that much time/miles.

3M clear bra is a paint saver. THICK and self repairing.

Thanks! I'll look that up!
