Are the 6.6 l8t engines inherently noisy?

Confirmed engine is misfiring, maybe on two cylinders, continuous misfires not intermittent.  All three cats glow purple/red hot after short distance drives like 10 min drives maybe and just from idling.  Very audible and loud ticking noises from the engine.  Trucks not even fully broken in yet.  Oil reeks in pure gasoline smell on the dipstick.  No check engine light but you can feel it misfire sitting in the truck and you can hear the engine stumble and can see the rpm's stumble.  Didnt do this before until after my first oil change which the dealer themselves did.

Edit: dealer overfilled it so much that it was an inch and a half maybe two inches past full and was up to the wire part on the dipstick.  I have pics of all this to show the dealer.  Just doesnt seem good at all.

Sounds like the tech was dreaming of a Duramax when he filled your oil back up.  That's a bummer.

Heard nothing from the dealer so far.  Dont know whats taking them so long honestly.  But it is annoying.

Yeah that’s BS. Auto companies are making their warranties next to worthless by just making the service so painfully slow or hard to access. It’s all by plan of course.

an independent shop would probably have an answer in a few hours.

Early on, 2019-2020, there was a lifter bulletin for some 6.2 and 6.6 engines depending on the date they were built. Maybe something is showing itself again?

What was this regarding?  6.6 engines dont have afm/dfm but i saw the 6.2 engines had a bulletin for faulty afm/dfm lifters.

0 Noise.  That engine is smooth as silk.  That's why I said if yours is making noise I would probably make an appt with my local dealer.  No noise, no hitching, A/C compressor on and off, still a smooth transition.  No ticking, ummmm nothing actually.....perhaps @Pryme will give his 2 cents as well.  But mine is quiet and smooth...100%.  Hot/cold...no difference.

Chiming in to report another 6.6L L8T that is silky smooth (cold / warm).

Hope OP gets issue resolved.

Keep us updated!!  Good luck on getting issue resolved.
