For those that use your trucks for towing campers, what are your plans for this year?

Recommended Posts

So here's what we have lined up and would love to know what you all have planned too.

1.  Cajun RV in Biloxi, MS in June for 5 days.

2.  Back to Wind creek RV in Alabama mid July.

3.  Massive trip from Atlanta to Naples, Me to 4 Seasons Camping Area.  That will be a 3 week in total trip.  Will be well over 3k miles round trip.  We can't wait!

4.  Ahoy RV resort in Foley, AL in October so we can attend the shrimp festival in Gulf Shores, AL.  If you want to attend that festival, all the close sites are already sold out.  But Foley is only like 10 miles from it so no problem.

Hopefully we can fit a few more in of which I'm sure we will....If any of you have plans to be at the places I just listed let me know.  Would love to meet up with you all and brag about our trucks while enjoying a cold adult beverage....we love meeting new people and having fun.  As long as you are a legitimate member here on this forum PM me for the exact dates and hopefully we can meet up...Making new friends and memories is what life is all about, especially the camping life!

Sounds like a great couple of trips planned for some camping @Jettech1

We are heading to Arkansas over Memorial Weekend for my first official tow with the new truck.

Trying to get out once a month to some campsites. Palo Duro (TX Grand Canyon) planned for late June. Open the rest of the year to ideas.

Nice thing with the young kids, they don't care if we drive 15 minutes away to a campsite! Everything is new and fun for em.

This year is going to be a repeat of last year.

Headed to Silver Strand State Beach in Coronado CA next week for my birthday.

In July, we do the "BIG TOW."  From Arizona to NE Wisconsin, returning sometime in August.

We did both of these trips last year, and the half ton Denali with the 5.3L and 8 speed surpassed all my expectations.  I put on Roadmaster Active Suspension out back, and LT tires all around, and with the ProPride hitch, it does really well.  The 8 speed is the key.

In November, we do a "Friendsgiving" camp at Catalina State Park in Oro Valley AZ.  Beautiful location.

Next truck, I'm on the hunt...  Have my eye on ordering something like this saved build.  Stepping down from crew to extended cab to fit in the garage.  Will I miss the full back seat?  Will my dog (she's the only one who ever uses it)? :)

If GM would build a half-ton-sized 3/4 ton in a spec I want (AT4 please), I couldn't give them my money fast enough.

The first trip will be like previous years. A close one. Only about 75 miles away. Enough to shake the cobwebs out of our routine. This year we not only have a new truck, but a new dog to break in. If she’s like our last lab, she’ll love it and at 2 years old she’ll test my patience…:)

My kids are excited. They know as soon as school’s out, camping season has arrived!

Nothing in particular planned, but we don't tend to plan that far ahead.  In April we went to NC for 6 days at Jordan lake rec area visiting daughter.  Probably do some state park trips around Ohio.  We just got a cabin delivered at our property a few hours away, so at the moment we are heading there most of the time bringing the tractor instead of the RV.  Might do a trip to Utah in the fall, but that is still a definite maybe.

I live and work in Biloxi. We will be pulling the camper and boat to Little Black Creek in Lumberton, MS for Memorial Day weekend. I'm trying to plan something for Juneteenth weekend cause I have extended weekend then also due to federal holiday.

We will be at Cajun RV park from the 8th to the 11th.  Just in the event you happen to be around on those dates please keep us in mind!

This is a pretty cool looking campground in between Biloxi and Ocean Springs. I have not actually camped there because I like to get out of here to camp but check it out.

Will do.  We are very new to this so the excitement is definitely there to check out all we can.

Spent last weekend at Seneca Rocks, WV and Blackwater Falls SP.  About 400miles round trip averaging 9mpg.

Our only other long trip for the year is to Cape Henlopen SP in Delaware.  -  5 hrs each way.

I am always looking for recommendations in the mid-Atlantic or North East!
