Google Maps shows me in the middle of the Atlantic ocean

Recommended Posts

For the last few weeks when I try to use Google maps from my iPhone it shows my location just above the equator off the coast of Africa in the Atlantic ocean!

When I open the app in the iphone it works normally. I've tried  going through all the settings in the phone and infotainment with no luck.

Anyone have any ideas? In the past it worked fine.

Your not getting the GPS signal to the truck. I bet if you put in (0, 0) (Lat, Long) in a mapping system, you'll see your truck thinks your at (0, 0) because your not getting any GPS signal or the communication is not making it to the infotainment system.

You can reset this by holding down the phone disconnect on the steering wheel until the dash goes black. I have the 2024 Sierra 1500 its a real pain in the butt. Make sure you are parked when you do it or it will not reset. Been having this issue sense day one, mine also has issue with OnStar being able to talk to them. Other issue is sometimes when Dash will change on its own when you turn off the truck and get back in it, when you start it the dash goes from last setting to showing trip log or air pressure. This is the real killer while driving under 10 mph with the auto on/off deactivated it has died 4 times. When this happens you must put in park and press brake petal to restart truck. Not happy at all with this truck. It had 3 miles on it when we took delivery.
