2024 Tahoe Z71 rough ride, rough idle, bad steering

Recommended Posts

2024 Tahoe got a flat a month ago.  It was plugged and now my truck drives like I am on a horse galloping.  The steering has become like I'm driving a large man truck constantly keeping my truck in the lines and it is difficult to turn.  When idling the car shakes and vibrates like it going to ****** off.  It has 5000 miles on it and the dealership says it's normal but it's never driven like this or I wouldn't have bought it.  By the time I get from place to place I am exhausted and feel like I have been beat up from driving the car.  Suggestions?  Very dissappointed!

Tire could be out of round or out of balance. Of course that has nothing to do with the engines problems.

No, I didn't.  I don't even know what I ran over.  There was nothing in the tire and when it happened it sounded like a gun shot/pop.  Nothing in the road that I could see and no nail or nothing to be found in the tire.

Plugging a tire doesn't cause your symptoms unless the tire wasn't balanced after it was repaired, but that would only cause the vibration when moving.

The inability to keep it straight down the road and hard to turn tells me something got damaged somewhere.  Belt shifted in the tire, loose or broken suspension, etc.

If you heard a pop like a gun shot you hit something, them just putting a plug in the tire wasn't enough to cause the bang or pop like a gunshot. What ever you hit puncture the tire is to why just a plug. Like newdude said you probably have a broken belt in the tire, out of alignment or something bent, damaged rim etc.

Like newdude and Silverado4x4 said is what I would look at.    Sounds like bad alignment but a bad tire with broken belt can give you the same feeling.

When you changed the tire,  where did you jack up your Tahoe?   Did you jack it up innthe right spot?
