Duramax - Weight of engine

Howdy,

 

Looking at the new 2500HD with the Duramax. I understand that the Duramax weighs considerably more than the 6.0 or the 8.1 gas engines. Anyone know how much more it does weigh and what GM has done to compensate for this additional weight on the front suspension. Looking at a 2500HD SLE Extended and was trying to decide whether to add the snow plow package to beef up the front suspension but with that option then have to give up the climate control and a couple other things. I know, tough decisions.

The springs are selected for each truck built based upon the particular options (including engine) and the torsion bar adjustment is set accordingly to yield the proper ride height.

I read that the Duramax 6.6 weighs in at 836lbs
