Good GMC dealershp in Georgia? Under Invoice?

Hi. Do any of you guys from Georgia know of a good GMC dealership around here? I am looking for a 2005 Denali.

The dealership I went to today were real scum. They had the truck I wanted, and said, "at what price will you buy it today"? I told him $750 under invoice with no fees and 1.9% for 36 months. The guy came back with a price $1500 over invoice, and he was lying, saying it was $750 under invoice. He also had added $400 for wax and $100 for window rain repellant, and $400 more for documentation. The scummy salesman started to be a real a-hole so I was out of there.

Now I'm looking for a good GMC dealership that sells under invoice, and won't try to screw with me. I'm used to dealing with 1 good Ford dealership, and 1 great Chrysler dealership for trucks, but I want to try GMs now. I really hate sleazy dealers that try to BS and manipulate instead of just doing a clean and easy deal.

when I was trying to buy my truck.I searched the local stealerships for what I wanted. I had already been approved for $22,000 or so and requested a z71 EC he says we have none you can afford. I had traveled the lot and saw several Z71's I wanted but they were 2000- 2002 and had some miles 60,000 and up. hard to pay the 18,000 for 60k+ but I hadn't started haggling yet. finnally while going to a store for a soda i notice the perfect truck 2003(i wasn't looking for 1 that new) with 21,900 on the window. I ask for the keys and mister salesman says they can't sell me that one cause it has too many miles on it can't get the loan. 20k on the speedo. Damm it had less than the 03 2wd he was tryin to sell me. then says we're losing money at that price and can't sell it to me. I had been to kelly blue book and knew the trade in was 21,400 so they would make $500 I was ok with that but this dip argues with me saying tradein was 22,4 and they were losing money. I laughed in his face and told him it was written on the window I wasn't makin up a price. again he says well we've had it for 100 days and it's time to sell it at a loss. I laughed again and said I don't care if you make a dime. it's written on the windshield. and I will pay that. I thought I was going to have to arm wrestle him or something. I guess the point is I didn't know there were any "honest car dealerships" anywhere. another funny once it was mine it was too late to get a hold of my insurance company. I told him I'll see you monday. it was friday night. He offered a insurance guy to set up a binder. I told him my company was great and I would wait. he couldn't understand someone not wanting to drive off in thier new truck. my other cars are paid off so I had no full coverage. even the finace guy was shocked. I was adamant that my co. was great so they wanted thier name and number to check personally for their own cars. anyway 36 yr old man 2003 chevy z71 25 50 25 w/ $500 deductable for $607 a year.

Where are you located at in GA? How far are you willing to drive? There are two dealerships I have dealt with personally locally- Franklin Automotive (Chevy or GMC) here in Statesboro and NeSmith (Chevy only) down in Hagan. Both have been fair with me (as fair as car dealers get I guess).....I paid over 5K less than sticker on my 2K Silverado at Franklin.

You did the right thing walking out on the dealer. You have the power (IE THE MONEY). If you don't like the way they are dealing with you-get out, usually they will call you back begging you to come back in and talk. If they want to sell cars they should deal straight up with you and not add $400.00 Rain-x and other hooey like that. They don't call em stealerships for nothing....

Yep, went through the same thing helping my parents' neighbors buy their 04 crew back in March...GMC dealer near me was wasting our time talking about everything but the bottom line. So we went to the Chevy dealer that I got my truck from...a little bit of playing Marvelous Marvin Haggler by yours truly and they were out the door with a deal.

Bought a GMC Sonoma in 1997 from Carl Black up in Kennesaw near Town Center Mall. They were pretty good at the time offering a great deal on my trade-in and a good deal on my Sonoma. When I was looking for a new 2004 midsize SUV last month, they offered me close to invoice, but they didn't have the vehicle I was looking for, so didn't waste my time and theres looking for a vehicle I wanted to see on their lot. Probably could get a good price if you haggled. Although since you are looking at 2005, it may be difficult to get it for under invoice. Also, they give you free oil changes for as long as you have ownership, but pay for filters I think for like 10 bucks. Just my opinion.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm in Atlanta. I think I am going to become a GM fleet customer so I don't keep screwing with this. None of the GMC places I've gone to and called wanted to make a fair deal, and get a repeat customer. Instead they have all tried to screw me.

jauto98, Carl Black in Kennesaw is the first delership that I posted about. :)

just moved from Atlanta and Carl Black is the LAST dealership i'd go to. you might try days chevrolet in kennesaw, the chevy dealer in adairsville (worked at a bank in the area a few years ago and people liked them then), another that may be a bit of a drive is in dalton. what i've found is the further away from the 'big city' you get, the beter chance of a deal.

Guess Carl Black has changed a lot since 1997. Oh well, sorry for the suggestion. Theres Hardy GMC up at Dallas, though, when I went up there, their inventory was pretty sparse. Asked the dealer for an Internet quote and gave me whatever factory invoice was for an '04 envoy and trailblazer, which I'm sure is inflated somewhat. It would appear that whatever they show as "invoice" is not the same as what Edmunds.com or KBB.com has. My suggestion would be to go to the Internet sales people and deal with them. Another ideal would go to GMBuypower and ask for quotes from the dealer via email. Hopefully you can get a good deal on the Denali's

I did business at 2 dealerships:

Tom Jumper in Atlanta and John Bailey in Buford.

I didn't have to negotiate anything. I just told them what I wanted to pay for whatever it was and that was it. At Bailey when we started talking about $ I told them my price was "out the door", so they calculated the cost of the car (with tax/title/etc) to hit that figure.

It helps if you know what the vehicle costs before you go looking for it.
