Auto to Manual Conversion

Now take this with a grain of salt. All of the work I plan on doing to my 70 C-10 fleetside longbed will be at the earliest in a year, after I graduate and get a "real" job.

So, my question is this. Does anyone know the process involved in switching an auto trany with a manual one. I'm looking at putting a 6 speed in her. This is just one of a long list of mods I'm going to do, and I'll keep y'all updated as it progresses. Just wondering if there was any literature, or anyone here that would help me out. Thanks.

sounds neat, trying to figure out the hydr clutch set up my self. 6.0/5speed is what I'm dreaming of if i get my truck. (still trying to catch him home) if you decided to go retro and get a 4speed with a manual clutch, then it should be just swaping the pedals and clutch link ups. they made a 400 sm block back in the time period, that should be the same size as the 6.0 and it'll have the spot to screw the clutch pivot on the block.

I saw a Richmond 6 spd manual on Summit's website for like $3000. I checked their site, and it seems that the thing will work. So I'll just have to work out some sort of pedal workings and stuff. Good luck on yours Rascal!

there is this gentleman on LS1truck.com...his handle is LS1Nica...he just did an LS1 swap to include switching the auto to a manual. I'm sure if you got a hold of him he can give you some pointers.
