02 Sierra Nuts and Bolts

I'm feeling kinda lazy tonight and thought maybe I could get someone to post on this one without catching too much flak for not going out and checking.

I don't have anything to change or tighten that I'm aware of, but was just wondering.

So, on the 02 Sierra, are the fasteners standard or metric?

Oh yeah, yesterday I replaced my white DRL's with amber Sylvania 4157NALL bulbs. I was delighted at how easy it was to do. Just pull a couple of pins and the whole headlight assembly comes right out. Awesome engineering! And yes, the original bulbs looked as though they burn mighty hot. there was discoloration around the base of the bulbs and the housing they mount into. I expect the amber bulbs to burn just as hot though.

Well lets see

torsion bar bolts are metric

oil plug is 15mm

lug nuts are 7/8 std

i think the shocks are std.

front brush guard (plastic under front of truck) is metric

mainly our trucks are metric but there are some things that are std

Hope this helps

pretty much every nut and bolt that I've come across has been Metric.  Which sucks because I've had to go out and buy a whole bunch more tools since I didn't own anything metric aside from the metric sockets in my socket set.

Sears 76 piece std/metric socket set with 3 ratchets $49.99

Cheaper than buying a metric and std set and getting less would cost ya $60

Best $50 i have spent

I was just at sears last night, I had to pick up a garage door opener since I can fit my truck in the garage now, also, I picked up a space heater to keep me warm while I'm working on the truck.

wish mine fit in the garage.  Only way i can get the door to close is if i put the truck at an angle and then i only have 1" to spare

Only done this once memorial day weekend when i waxed the truck and it started to pour and my parents were out of town.  I lucked out.  Only bad thing i didnt drive my truck for 4 days and my dads truck wasnt running so i was carless

Wish I had a garage. Didn't come with the apartment though.

I went to Sears last night and bought a "5-drawer premium tool center" anyway. It includes a bulk riser for storing large items and 3 small parts drawers. All for 80 bucks, it was on sale 20 off.

Now I've got one place to put all my tools, both standard and metric, instead of the 3 different toolboxes I was using.

I finally said to heck with it, I know I don't have a garage to put it, but I don't care.

So, the "tool center" sits in my livingroom area along with my entertainment center and computer desk.

Glad I'm not married, bet she would b****.

You're right on that one, I could hear her now.  I'm glad that I finally cleaned out the garage.  It's great being able to park my truck in there and not having to worry about scraping the windows in the morning or clearing off snow.  Heck, won't even have to shovel the driveway, that's what 4x4 is for.
