New Guy in GM TOWN

Well after many years of bein a Chevy Owner drivin a Bronco (atlthough my bronc was badd ARSE) I have finaly came back to the light. I just bought a 99 GMC Sierria Ext Cab Z71 SLE. DAYUM NICE TRUCK... My truck has 3/4 ton rear springs due to the company that had it before me had them install it. They hauled alot in the bed i guess. The truck has 44,000 miles on it and has seen all highways miles!!!! As I have only had it 2 months the mods are not that high up there but i will tell ya. Flowmaster 40 series 3 chamber Dumped, Cobra Night Hawk CB (need to find a better mounting area for it) Magnet mount antenna (not for long got a 5' Firestik), Blue interior lighting (mood lights ), 1Million candlepower Spot, Class III Hitch, K&N FIPK, Sport Trani Chip. Future upgrades to be listed later. Anyways I am glad to be into a GM product again.. And hope to have a nice NON STOCK one someday.

Welcome to the site WyomingBass! Glad to have you here. Sounds like you have a pretty interesting truck. And I thought I was the only one who used mood lights. LOL I have red ones in the front floor boards and license plate lights. I tried them in the instrument cluster too, but whent back to the white ones. I liked the red but didn't like that all the other dash lights (radio, a/c-heater controls, etc.) didn't match.

Welcome to the forum. Do you have center console in your truck or the folding center seat. If you've got the center console I've got the CB mountin spot for you. I put mine in the CD holder (w/ slight modification) As for the antenna, I was running two 5' wilson's but I went to a thru glass antenna (looks like the onstar antenna). It looks better and I get the same reception as i did w/ the whips. Believe it or not I just put in some red light in my truck last night (red truck) and I ended up switching back to the stock one in the overhead light because the red one was far too dim.

Yea i have that.. although i asked about it on another board and found out that (GET THIS) GM made a standard area for CB's to be mounted they did it on purpose right under our fold down drink holder there is two bolts that go through a metal strip that dont support anything (WIERD), well they do support somthing they were put there on purpose by GM for mounting in a CB.. Hrmmm what a good idea chaulk up another one for GM designers.
