Iowa State Rep. wants Spinner wheels banned

From an article in Feb issue of AUTOWEEK:

 

According to the Des Moines Register, Iowa Rep. Doug Struyk has proposed legislation that would make use of banning spinner rims a misdemeanor punishable by a $10 fine. Struyk blames a set of spinners for a near - accident he had because "I couldn't tell if the car was going to stop or not because he had spinning hubcaps. So I jammed on the brakes and had my trailer (nearly) jackknife on me"

The old geezer needs to get a life.... I'm 57 and I'll bet, knowing me, if I were in my high school years and the technology existed back then, I'd have two things: the spinners and underbody neons--BLUE. HEH, I have no idea why I have a smile on my face when I see these today on vehicles today.

 

Would I have turned my truck into a rice rocket if the technology existed back then? Heck no. I would have had pure raw engine upgrades, as much as I could have afforded. But, those two items would have been installed.

 

Doug Struyk needs to get a life.... he probably was yapping on his cell phone while driving, looked up and saw the spinning wheels. His feeble mind couldn't take in and process the snapshot his mind just revealed.

 

Dang, why the heck did this message strike such a nerve on me? Poor Doug. He might be a nice guy as far as I know.

Question: How can you see the spinners of a car in front of you? Or why would you be slamming on the brakes for a car in another lane next to you? OR Cars come with these things calls "Speedometers" the indicate the relative speed of said vehicle....

Exactly, and I guess I could pull the same line and call the spelling mistake on my part an attempt at "sarcasm" as well , but since I will be honest and admit to the mistake, we can view it as "ironic " and definitely funny .
