My V7 is better for the environment

Guys I need help, I'm only running on 7 cylinders. Last night i started up my truck and its running rough, then the SES comes on. So this morning i hook up my diagnostics to it and it says Cyl 7 is misfiring. Last week i changed the plugs, so i pulled out the plug for number 7 and it is sparking. The wires look good. I tried switching the plugs and the wires. I dont know what to do. The fuel injector appears to be working. I can hear it clicking through a poor mans mechanic stethoscope (a long screwdriver). Why is this bad boy misfiring?? Is it a fuel problem? A really screwed up computer?:D:D Its a '99 4.8 btw.

Are the 4.8s running coil packs or distributers? Either way you might have a bad coil pack or distributor cap. You say you swapped plugs and wires and the problem didn't follow. Also injector might be clogged.

I talk to my dads mechanic, he told me he is almost positive it was a bad coil. So I bought a new coil and put it in (1 minute tops), but nope, cyl 7 is still misfiring. So theres $50 down the drain. :banghead: Ive pretty much narrowed it down to injector. Maybe the fuel system cleaner i put in it last week cleaned up all my fuel lines and all the crud got clogged up inthe last injector on the row. I dont know how to do the injectors so im taking it in. I cant think of anything else.

well this morning i took it to my dads mechanic he took out the injector and cleaned it, maybe swapped them, but its still misfiring! I cant believe this crap. Im taking it to a dealership so i can get screwed. There must be a short in a wire somewhere :banghead: or the computer :D How much do ECUs cost?
