one-touch up windows in Silverado?

i posted something about this a few weeks back but nobody had anything, and now that the forum's different i can't find my old posting so here goes

i got a Silverado in November and it's all good, but one thing i miss over my old car is that there's no one-touch-up feature for the windows. i know GM has the parts for it (my brother's Saab has it, i'm pretty sure i've seen it in some Escalades, etc) -- does anybody know how to go about making my truck have this feature? is it as simple as changing the switch in the door perhaps? or even modifying the existing switch?

Sure would be nice if they would stop half ***ing everything, auto lock with no auto UNLOCK, auto down with no auto UP? Sure would like to see if there is a fix for it. :wtf:

Auto-up...no thank you! Get your arm caught in that and not find the button quick enough...ouch! How about kids? Those are the reasons that is not an option, I agree it would be fine for some customers, but they do not want to open themselves for injuries...later, :D:nopity::wtf:

Auto-unlock? Not sure what you mean, mine auto-unlocks when I put it in Park? What do you mean? Let me know, later, :fume::D:nopity:

The auto-up windows on most vehicles have the safety feature that causes them to reverse if any obstruction is met. It takes very little force against the windows to cause them to reverse too. I don't know if this requires more than special switches (possibly a special motor assembly?) or not though.

I also have a Saab 9-3 for the wife. It has the auto-up feature and I do wish the trucks had it. It is very convenient. But I'm afraid it is more involved than just swapping the switches. The door module will need to be updated with the proper hardware/software. Also, the mechanism is a little different as well.

GM trucks have had some significant scrutiny regarding the power window features (if you recall, some kids and animals were injured). I would have to believe that the intended customer base and the past issues with the door switches swayed them not to have the feature. Bummer...
