Anyone have a Pic of the 3/4 ton gauge cluster?

I am thinking about selling mine on eBay and getting the Escalade cluster.  Since its new, I hope to almost be able to pay for the new cluster with it..

Should I have a problem reselling the truck in the future w/the different cluster?

Shouldn't be a problem, the only thing to worry about is that the mielage and hour reading are stored in your cluster so when you get a new one it will read 0.  You can take it somewhere to get it reset.  Reselling the truck shouldn't be a problem, most people would prefer the customized look.  To a guy like me it would be a plus.  You should give someone on here a shot at it before you throw it on ebay, I'm sure someone will bite.  I would if I had the money.

I really am not worried about the mileage since I just got the truck, it won't be that far off.  I was going to go ahead and put it on eBay because I would like to get as much as possable out of it to pay for the new one.  I don't want to rip anyone off in here..

Anyone know if you can run w/out a cluster for a couple of weeks until I get the new one from GMPD?

for some reason that just doesn't sound safe to me.  No speedo, gas gauge, odometer, tach, warning lights.  I wouldn't recommend it.

Just go to the dealer, test drive an escalade, take it home and swap them.  They'll never know

I would think the only problem would be the gas gauge since the 8.1 goes through so fast..  I can go w/traffic for speed for a couple of weeks.  Better not be any warning lights...its brand new!

Anyone know if the electronics side (probably a question for Bob Prim) has to be attached to the cluster for it to run properly.  Like a loop?  Maybe so, otherwise everyone would just unplug it to keep miles off.

The Caddy dealership would eventually figure it out down the road and have a copy off my License and Insurance on file.  I would also think the cluster has #'s that would link back to my vin which would link to me.

c'mon they'll never know.  Great, now you've got me worried, i'll be right back *runs out, drives to caddy dealership and switches clusters back* see they don't know.  It would be funny though.  If you got stopped by the cops you'd be screwed, your truck wouldn't be street legal w/o gauges.  But, give it a try, unhook the cluster and see if it starts up and moves.

I'm not worried about it stopping and moving...  I'm sure it will.  I'm just afraid of driving somewhere and not getting back because of a dead battery or something.  I don't want to screw anything up.

I personally wouldn't do it, just seems risky to me.  Too many things could go wrong.  If you get pulled over I think that the cops would end up towing your vehicle away because w/ no cluster it is no longer street legal. You have to have a working speedometer.

I would bring it to a shop and have the odomiter swaped over by a spedo shop and get a slip of some kind, as a mechanic would notice the ne cluster  wile u had it in for warrenty work they would have cause for voiding your warrenty if they wanted to be ######s, U will need both clusters in hand to do this

Have you decided what your going to with your cluster as far as selling it? If you put it on ebay, let us know....I'm really interested. Thanks

Chane,

Sorry I did not catch this earlier. The pics are e-mailed.

Thanks John!  I have been looking for those pics..   I knew you had this.  I did a search and found your original post, but couldn't find the pics.

It is on eBay, but like I said before, (see above) it is overpriced because I would like to get enough to buy the new cluster cheap.  I have to justify the cost to the wife somehow..   If I can get it close enough to say it was just an even swap then I don't have to explain that 'no there was nothing wrong w/the old one', I just WANTED it.  hehe..  Anyone else have a similar problem?   ;)

If it doesn't sell, I will let you guys know if/when I re-list it..

Transmission Temperature---so that's what that space is for!

I have been wondering what that space is for in the lower left of the gauge cluster on our Av.  I have these two half-circle thingys--can't remember if they actually light up for anything or not.  You say the transmission temp sensors already exists on the Avalanche too (1/2 ton truck)?  GM just failed to give us a temp gauge?  It's not like I need one--don't tow anything or haul large loads or even go uphill (!), but still.  I certainly couldn't justify $200 for such gauge.  But it's nice to know the hookup is there.

And, it solves my curiosity on that location.  The NorthFace Edition Avalanches have a NF logo in that spot.  Maybe I should customize that part!
