Bigs On Back Littles (tires) On Front Confuse ABS?

Hello all

Question, just picked up a nice little 2002 S10 regular cab, short bed, 4cyl. 5 speed. Lowered it 2 in the front, 3 in the rear (spindles and blocks). Wanted a "street roddish" look so I did bigs on rear and littles on front for tires. Fronts are 225/70 and rears are 255/70. Few miles into my trip home from getting tires, ABS light comes on as well as the brake light. Wondering if the computer is mad because of the different size tires front to back. If so, can it be reflashed with the info on the new tire sizes?

It does not like the to different tire sizes and never will and I am not aware of a "flash" to allow it to work with different tire sizes front to rear as the system is designed to detect differences in wheel speed which you have all the time now effectively disabling the ABS.

Swapped rear tires for 235's and the ABS is happy now. Variance between fronts and rears are close enough now. Now is time to lower more ;-)

Good compromise as the difference now is likely within the margin of error in the ABS itself so you appear to have found a solution.
