2500HD 6.0L Stock exhaust sizes?

I called jegs tonight (Finally deciding on a Flowmaster muffler for the truck)... By the time I got off the phone with the guy i had MYSELF more confused than the guy on the other end, and it's my truck!

What im looking to do:

--- Add a flowmaster exhaust

--- Keep the dual inlet setup that is originally on our trucks (The true dual exhaust off the manifold)

--- Keep the stock exhaust look (single pipe behind passenger-rear tire)

--- Change from Dual Inlet/Dual outlet (stock setup) to Dual (stock size) inlet/Single (stock size) outlet. -=Where our mufflers go in dual and come out dual, i want to go in dual, come out single with something that wont hinder the motor any=-

What i need to know:

--- Stock pipe size coming down from the cats? (which goes into the original muffler/stock muffler) In other words, how big is the pipe that connects to the stock muffler...

--- Stock pipe size exiting the stock muffler (The wierd dual outlet to Y they have there which i dont understand) <(Which is what i'm trying to eliminate That Y thing after the muffler on our trucks)>

P.S. ID and OD... I know nothing about, I know what it is (I'm a plumber/heating/cooling, but when it comes to exhaust it just confuses me more than i already am.

I've never had such a confusing situation when it comes to exhaust as this. And I have a 3rd gen Z28 (If anybody has ever tried to put an exhaust on one of those they know what im talking about).

Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! Thank you!

Also... Any other setup ideas you could give me would be great.

Also... Any comments on flowmaster designs (30, 40, 40 delta, 50, etc.) I'm looking for something that turns head for sure, but not cops, lol which makes it hard.

Thanks again in advance! :P

Dual 3.0" O.D. into muffer, dual 3/0" O.D. out of muffler into "Y", then 3.5" O.D. to the tailpipe.

Flow master makes a dual 3 inch in and a single 3.5 inch out muffler.

Which is exactly what i was looking for thank you! This will do away with the duals into single AFTER the muffler and just make a single pipe, thanx all very much!
