Forest Fire aftermath pictures

There was a good-size forest fire in my hometown in Northern Michigan about a week ago that burned roughly 1500 acres. It tore through wooded stateland, part of which was clear-cut a few years ago. I went out and took some pictures of it. A pretty baren looking landscape now...it used to be full of nice tall Pines. Enjoy.

Yep, normal sight out here in the western US. We always have some big wildland fires. This year should be a big one due to the immense rainstorms we had this winter and the massive growth of vegatation in the deserts. Bad for the wildlands, good for people who work in wildland suppression...

Good pics :fume:

How did you ever get out there in some of those pics with all that light mud and not get a single drop on your black truck? Nice pics though, even though it isnt really the best subject.

Thanks guys....

Jester-I kept it clean by driving very slowly:) The trails were rough enough that I couldn't go very fast. That was over a week ago and my tires are still stained from the sand...

Man that sucks to see all that damage done. They do controlled burns around here every so often, but they're controlled, so it's never gotten out of hand...at least not yet. What started that fire?
