99 K2500 Burb Brake Upgrade

Looking for any info on upgrades you may have done or seen for the last of the OBS 3/4 ton 4x4's. I am getting ready to put a 6" lift with 35" tires on mine and MUST upgrade the braking capability. The brakes suck now with the stock setup. Looking for info to go bigger up front and convert to discs in the rear. I would appreciate ALL feedback. Thanks in advance.

check the tech articles on fullsizechevy.com

There is one about a disc conversion using GM parts and a bracket a guy on that forum makes. I have been trying to get some info on how to order the bracket. It says he makes them for 10 and 14 bolt axles.

I replaced the Front & Rear rotors on my 02 Burban with the Powerslot Slotted Cryo Treated Rotors and Hawk Superduty pads. They made a huge difference in the stopping ability of the truck over the stock brakes. On your truck you can go with the Powerslot Cryo's and Hawk Superduty Pads up front and you should be able to increase your stopping ability by at least 20%. These rotors will fit with the stock 16" wheels. If you convert to rear discs you can do the same although I don't think you will need the Cryo's in the rear as about 65% of your braking is carried by the front brakes. Check out Powerslots website at (www.powerslot.com). Also I would stay away from Drilled Rotors as they can be prone to cracking under severe duty applications like you may find with trucks. :chevy::D
