Door Chimes Too Loud...

Recommended Posts

Hey Mr.Q Whats up?

I think it goes something like...press the #6 button on the radio presets with the ignition turned on and the radio off. :seeya:

Yeah, I adjusted mine a few months ago. MSDale is right. Turn the ignition on, power off the radio, and hold down the #6 preset. And yes, this search engine on this site is junk. I have never been able to use it.

Someone on here said the google "search this site" function works real well on this site. You have to download the google toolbar though. It really does work well. I think you might be able to search for less than 4 letter words too!

Here's an example to whet your appetite:

Enjoy!

The 03`s are louder than the 04`s. No matter if the #6 radio button is loud or normal. There is a re-program for those radios. Unfortunately it`s available on GM-TIS and will have to be done at the dealer. Unless you know someone who can program it another way.

Don't count on it. They changed a lot of the electrical stuff around when they did the mild interior update / exterior restyle in 2003. (Learned from experience when I tried following instructions to install a new overhead console w/HomeLink using instructions for 99-02 trucks. Took some experimentation to find the right wires in my 2004 to get things working.)

The radio is the vehicle chime producer. To change the

volume level, press and hold pushbutton 6 with the

ignition on and the radio power off. The chime volume

level will change from the normal level to loud, and LOUD

will appear on the display. To change back to the default

or normal setting, press and hold pushbutton 6 again.

The chime level will change from the loud level to normal,

and NORMAL will appear on the display. Each time the

chime volume is changed, three chimes will sound as an

example of the new volume selected. Removing the radio

and not replacing it with a factory radio or chime module

will disable vehicle chimes.
