1500 HD tires

I have a 2003 1500hd with stock rims. I currently have 245/75 16's on the 16x6.5 rims. What is the biggest size tire I can put on the 16x6.5 rims. I have seen a lot of discussion about 285 and even 305's, but I did not see if it was on the 6.5 rims.

I have looked at the 285's but they don't recommend them on the 6.5 rims. Will they round over too much and look terrible and handle poorly?

If I go to the 265 or 285, should I adjust the tbars.

I have a 2002 1500HD with 285's i had them installed on the stock rim with no problem but i just upgraded to a 16x8 wheel and like the look much better. I have my t-bars cranked up in order to fit with the new wheel, but you probably only have to crank them a few turns to fit 285's on a stock rim. that was just my experience though.
