Manual for diesel

Recommended Posts

I got a question for yall 2500 and bigger trucks. Why cant yall have a manual with the duramax that makes 610 ft torque. Why is it that the Manual gets the 520ft torque duramax. The allison is awesome i know but manuals are great too.:cheers:

I think frozen is dead on. . . either that GM doesn't have the faith in the 6 speed that Ford and ZF have. I know the ZF6-S650 itself can handle the power fine. My Ford 350 (runs the exact same transmission) and is running just over 700ft-lbs (modified of course  ) and the transmission runs great.

many of the guys with the ZF6 are putting a very heavy duty clutch and fly wheel in after the truck is past it's 36mo-36,000 bumper to bumper some guys have gone through 2 or 3 factory set ups in 40-50,000 miles.

Do you know where guys are getting the heavy duty clutch from thier swapping in for the factory one? My clutch is starting to slip with only 25,000 miles. The dealer said it is likely the clutch plates and replacing them wouldn't be covered under the warranty because it's considered a wear item. I think that's crap for 25,000 miles with minimal time pulling a trailer. I'm not going to pay $1800 to put another factory one in. Thanks.
