Got my Wait4me tune today....

Recommended Posts

Oh yeah, got my tune from Jesse today. Easy to install, easy instructions and what a punch. I mean wow.

Went from not being able to pull a tick off a greased dogs ass(lay rubber), to leaving two 50 foot runways of firestone, all on the 89-91/mileage tune. I am glad I got the tune now and will get Jesse to tune everything I own down to my chainsaw. Installation was fairly easy with the only snag really being the harness was a little short and made it tight in there, but it was worth it. I cant believe how you can feel it in the seat of your pants so much more with just a tune. I had no idea my 8.1L/Allison could be brought alive so easily. I reccomend to everyone. Ill let ya'll know how the mileage thing goes too.

Oh, and $157.70 beats the hell out of $514.32.

Did you have to send them your PCM first or did they have one programmed sent it to you then you sent them yours? I am interested in getting a tune to remove torque man. can they do this too? Also what about 3d mapping ? I have been thinking about the Westers tune but it is expensive and i don't like the idea of losing my factory PCM. So I would have to pay the core charge so that makes it almost $900.00. Thats hard to swallow... Any help would be great.... :nopity:

Jesse does do 3D mapping. He does remove torque management, HOWEVER, he stated that with his tune removing it is not necessary. He advised me that he can tune the pcm in a way that does not require removing the torque management. I know that it feels like I dont have ANY AT ALL now and he told me he recommends not removing the torque management and didnt remove any from mine.

All I know is that my tune was made for gas mileage, so I cant wait to see some gas prices go down so I can get the "hot " tune.

Another great thing is that Igot to keep my factory pcm. But if you want you can send yours back and get a 75 dollar core charge. If you want.

Oh, and it got here is 2 days via USPS priority mail.

Tank you both for your insight. Supercop did you have any problems at all? I am thinking of getting a dual-tune 87-91 and haveing about 50% of the torque management removed. Do you have any other mods? I currently have a volant intake and a flowmaster exhaust, which helped by about 1MPG, and i am thinking of getting the 1.8 ratio rocker arms from Raylar, which will mimik giving the cam more lift. I live at over 5300ft and cannot even chirp the tires loose. I like the post you said about the rubber. I really want more seat of the pants feel and i do pull my 8000# fifthwheel so i would like more useable torque. Thanks again for the info.... :nopity:

Ha ha, its really kinda funny what happened. I took out my Allison tranny pcm first and thought it was the engine pcm(Its bolted on top of the engine pcm). I was pissed. Then I cooled off and looked at it again, kicked myself in the butt and changed it. kinda tight in there, but it was relevantly easy. I was the same as you, couldnt chirp a tire, and im at sea level, and im telling you, this tune will change all that. I have been talking about it all day. I suggest following Jesse's advice though and not getting any torque management removed. I had none removed and I cant even feel any torque management now. Yes the one he sent me looks identical to the factory one I took out.....that I am keeping.

I was skeptical at first because of the price, but im a believer now. You will not be dissapointed. Also, my tune gets better the more I drive it as the pcm "re-learns" the programming.

I just checked out the site and I was wondering... Whats the reliability rating on this product. In other words... If I buy it for the 87 octane tune and do all my changes, how will it effect my truck reliability wise? Will my truck start skippin in the future? Pinging? Not starting on a really cold morning? Add extra wear and tear on the engine, tranny? Plus... I could always put my original computer back in the truck and everything will go back to normal?

correct, it won't put any more wear and tear on the engine unless you order a 91 hot tune and run 87 in it and it starts pinging, personally i didnt get the hot tune, i just got the 89 mpg tune and got about 2 more on the highway and not a whole lot more on city driving, but i sent out the thing again to get it redone for exhaust and put my stock one back in and miss the lost power

Hey supercop,

I am debating on this tune or Westers. Can this tuner tune for just 87 octane? Basically what I am wanting is a gas mileage tune with a increase in horsepower. I wouldn't mind a little firmer shift either. What did you choose as far as your shifting options are concerned?

I got the exact same tune that you want. I got the "dual" 89 - 91 tune or the mid range tune with emphasis on gas mileage. With this tune he firms the shifts up just enough to make a difference(it doesnt jerk you), and help out a lot. I told him that I would be towing light to medium loads in the near future and possibly very heavy loads from time to time. I left it to him how he thought the truck should shift. He hit the nail on the head. So far as what tune I chose, I was going to go with the 87, then decided that mid grade was only 3 bucks more a fill up and went with that. Jesse can tune for anything that you want, just call him. As far as deciding on Wait4me or Westers.....Westers is $350.00 more.

If you want to spend the money for Westers, go right ahead. Or you could just set that extra money on fire. Or send it to me. Think of the possibilities...other mods....?
