Fog light question...

If mine came on with the headlights I would be writing asking how come I have to manually turn them off every time.

Any way I imagine there is a relay system, similer to high/low at the same time, you could install to have them on anytime the headlights are on.

Check out painless wire or search for that diode post about the high/low conversion.

How come everytime my lights come on I have to manually turn the fog lights on? Can I get them to just come on when the headlights do?

It's because of the factory fog light switch that they turn off everytime. The Fog Light switch isn't really a switch persay. The Fog light switch is just a momentary-contact-button when, which pressed, sends a signal to the BCM to turn the foglights on. When you shut your truck off this toggle get's reset. I believe you can get this option changed at your dealership by getting the BCM updated.

My truck didn't have the Fog/driving lights on it so I wasted the money and bought the crappy ones only to find out they suck however, I decided to wire them seperately so I can have them on anytime I want them. Regardless of headlights.

If you've your fog light system wired up, I've got a pair of stock '03-'06 fog lights I pulled out when I put the SS front end on my truck - lights and housings. They only had a couple of thousand miles when I pulled them out. Now they just have dust on them. If you want them just PM me.

Thanks but, I think I'm going to go with PIAA or BOSCH. I use to have Bosch Pilot's and I loved them but, they didn't fit this truck so I'm gonna shop for something close. I think the 03-06 are a slightly different size so they probably wouldn't fit right either. But thanks...

Duh, bonehead me.

I didn't even look at your signature to notice that your truck is a '99. Of course my lights from an '04 won't fit. I even stated that in my reply.

Oh well.

If anybody wants a pair of '03 - '06 fog lights (and only fog lights, no wires, switches, buttons, or relays) for a Silverado - PM me.
