Biggest tire on stock rims

g'morning all

 

ordered some 295/75r16's for my 2006 gmc sierra 1500HD 4x4 and planned on running them on the stock rims. I show up this morning to have them mounted and the tech comes out, looks at my truck, and says that he cant mount those tires on my rims. He seems to think that they are going to rub on the inside of the front fender wells and "shave" in the rear.

 

I told him that he was FOS and that id sign a waiver or whatever to have the tires mounted and he said no dice. He said there was no way to run that tire without getting a different rim. Needless to say, I walked out.

 

Is anyone currently running 295/75r16's on a 06? Have a pic?

I ended up biting the bullet and getting some 16x8 american eagle model 102's to mount the tires on. Can't wait to see what they look like with the tires mounted and under my ride.
