Painted bumper cap

Hey guys,

I have been thinking about getting a painted front bumper cap. I can get it through JP Customs for about $250 or so. Does anybody know how hard it is to install one of these or has anybody got one? Do you have to take the bumper totally off?

I have an 06 bumper cover that I bought from Mike at Fullsizechevy.com. Right now it's at the body shop getting painted. I'll let you know in a few days.

I've replaced my whole bumper and swapped the old pad and lower valance from the old bar to the new one, it isn't hard but my fingers were sore from all the plastic clips and plugs. On mine to get the bumper off I removed the grille (4 screw things and 2 clips) then there were about 6 bumper bolts, I really don't remember exactly, just remember to unplug the fog lights if you got them. My pad was just pressed on so to speak, there are plastic tabs that poke through slots in the bumper...

Is the pad you are buying pre-painted? Does it cover the whole bumper or is it the same as the factory?

The bumper cover is pre-painted. I am going to order it through JP Customs and they are going to paint it. I wouldn't mind dropping it off at the dealership and letting them do it but, I don't want my whole bumper to come off. For some reason I have this fear of it not going back on correct or more importantly, lining up right.

Again not sure on yours but there wasn't any way to adjust it or line up incorrectly, the braces on the sides are slotted but the main bolts in the center determined the position. I need to look and see if they have one for my truck because i hate all the black plastic garb.
