Leather armrest covers

Recommended Posts

I got a deal on a leather seat kit on ebay awhile back.

Has everything except the covers for the fold-down armrests that go on the buckets (I have buckets with console). The covers have the formed area where the armrests retract, but the owner must have lost the covers for the front seat armrests.

I've e-mailed a few places on the web, but most don't respond or else only sell the entire kit.

Anyone know a leather seat supplier that will just sell me the two arm rest covers, or do I have to go to an upholstery shop (or maybe take a stab at doing it myself).

Are factory covers leather to begin with? I figured since it's only leather seating surfaces that the rest of the seat is vinyl. Either way doing it your self would be hard, getting the leather, dying the leather, stitching the leather... Unless you are a leather craftsman then poower to ya.

I don't know. I don't have them. I guess they could be vinyl.

I'm not sure I care either way, as long as I don't have to use the cloth armrest covers with my leather seat kit.

I actually have a bunch of extra leather, but I don't have a clue how to sew them myself.

I wouldn't be opposed to just ordering new armrests from GM if I could find a p/n.

You could try Iggee Seat covers, they have vinyl ones that slip on, not sure how well they will match the rest.

Thanks, I'll try them

Where did you get the leather?

From a wrecking yard. Have the back of a rear bench in what looks to be leather. Rest of the interior was gone and the bottom of the bench was gouged up by a rear end sitting on it. Its lighter than the graphite in my truck, but I'll redye everything to match. I've used Leathermagic products with good results in the past. That way, I can redye all the interior panels to match the leather.
