Hey guys. Im ready to cross over into the world of trucks and and really love what GM has to offer but i thought this would be the plase to get all the nitty gritty. Im gonna get a 1500 4WD somewhere between a 2000-2003 just not sure if a silverado or sierra yet. i was wondering if there is anything i should watch out for mechanicly and things like that. and are there any good websites for aftermarket parts/ suspension /wheels & tires. thanks guys

I concur with the "Clunk". I have a 2000 Sierra 4X4 that I bought new in 99 and lived with the clunk from day one. They always said it was normal. Well, I stumbled upon this site a couple of weeks ago and started researching the problem. I went to the dealer and bought a nickel plated slip yoke for $258.00 and three quarts of "blue" Auto TracII transfer case fluid and went to work. Took about 3 hrs. 10 minutes of work, stop and drink a beer, 10 min. of work, stop and...... you get the idea. Maybe 2 hrs. of actual work. It Does Not "clunk" anymore. I love this forum. It is so informative. BTW, that's really the only complaint I have with my truck. It has 74,000 and runs as well as the day I drove it off the lot. I say go for it.
