DIY Roll-On Bedliners?

I rolled on a Herculiner a couple of years ago. It came out pretty good. A good final result is all in the prep. You really need to take your time sanding the bed before applying the product. They now have UV protectants for the Herculiner type liners that make all the difference in the world. Mine started to fade after about a year. I am in construction so I am pretty tough on my truck bed. I will re-apply this summer and definately put a UV inhibiter on this time. Overall, Ya I'm satisfied, and I am the type to do it myself before paying someone else. Yup, cheapskate. Good luck.

Another option would be Rattleguard. It's a two part polyurethane/epoxy material that is very durable. I've used the Herculiner, Durabak, Hippo, SEM Pro-Tex, etc and the Rattleguard seems to be the best value for the money, about 65$ per gallon (before shipping). You get about 2.65 gallons of sprayable material for about $170. You can also tint it to your vehices color if you want to.

You can roll this stuff on, but they don't recommend it. I sprayed it on with a $20 hopper gun and it turned out good. You have to make sure you get the stuff thinned and mixed correctly and the gun set right. It can be tricky.

If you can get your hands on some Speedliner, that's good stuff also (about $40 per gallon), but they only sell to dealers.

Just some other suggestions.

Thanks. I'm going to check into the Rattleguard. I have a couple of spray guns, so spraying myself might be the way to go. Just can't justify spending the $ they want at dealers.
