Magnaflow or Flowmaster Sound Clips

Recommended Posts

Posted

Hey guys....I have listened to the clips on both the flowmaster site and the magnaflow site. However, all that stuff can be edited and changed to perfection. Therefore, i am asking that if you have a sound clip of either on a Silverado please either post it or email it to me at [email protected]

Thanks guys!

psu05....haha yeah i just cannot decide...i am pulling my hair out over this descision. It is an expensive descision so i want to make sure i get it right and the whole backpressure thing just came to my attention and so now i am getting all into that debate now.

I know it is going to come down to either a flowmaster or a magnaflow system i just cant pick...i am starting to get the feeling though that it just isnt gonna matter that much either one is going to be pretty good and with these new engines you are going to loose a little bit of torque with a better sounding muffler from either of these companies....so yeah that is where i am now.

Sounds great and looks great....but any way you can take a clip with the truck outside? Being in a building....I'd think the sound would kind of echo. Just would like to hear it out in the open to get an idea of what other people would hear as I went by. If its not too much trouble :banghead: Thanks for sharing too!

Magnaflow is the way to go in my opinion....

Im starting to sway that way. Ive always loved the FLowmaster sound. Had it on my 99 and it sounded fantastic. I'd just like to hear the Magnaflow setup on a truck like mine first before I go and purchase something. Also...if you buy the Magnaflow kits, are they direct bolt-ups like the flowmaster kits? I can't tell by the crappy pics sites seem to use (like Summit Racing). If anyone has the install instructions laying around to post or pictures maybe of the process, that'd be really helpful. I just would like to know if I can do this mod myself (minus welding the tips on), or if I have to shell out the extra bucks to have someone else do it.

Brian good questions..i want to get some answers for those!

Go Magnaflow. I have a Flowmaster Cat-back on my GMC and it's less than 2 years old and I've already had to replace both exit pipes because they rusted out and broke off and now the front hanger rusted around the weld and snapped off and is MIA. The Magnaflow kit is stainless so no issues with that. I haven't put my magnaflow kit on yet, I'll be doing that Saturday.

Thanks for the advice. What kit are you putting on? And is it possible to post the instructions and diagrams? Id like to see whats all involved.
