mattro Posted May 29, 2006 Author Posted May 29, 2006 ok thats what i thought....sorry just trying to be cheap ha ha. but can i put blocks on the back suspension of my 4wd? i was thinking torsion bars cranked in the front 2" and like 4" or 5" blocks in the back. but what else would i need in the front to work with the 5inch block in the back so it looks good thanks
asilverblazer Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 If you are trying to lift the front overall 4" You will likely experience some wear issues. 1 1/2 - 2" is about the max you can safely go on the stock CV joints and half shafts. It also will likely not align properly (Camber will be off), plus the ball joints and other linkages will wear out faster. A taller block in the rear will not be a big issues but it will be harder on the U-Joints due to the additional axle wrap. Add-a-leafs would be better. For best results I would suggest about 1 1/2 - 2" lift on the factory torsion bar keys with add-a-leafs to bring the rear up a similar amount. If that isn't enough lift then a cheap solution is a body lift.(It's the step child of lifts but works extremly well for whats it's for.)
mattro Posted June 4, 2006 Author Posted June 4, 2006 thank you for your suggestions ive decided leafs in the back and keys in the front that will be good for me now.
