Questions about increasing displacement

I'm looking to get a Yukon with a 5.3L V8.

Also looking to bore it out to a 4.00" bore to make it a 6.0L and slap on a set of LS6 Z06 heads.

Has anyone here done this before?

Any tips?

What would be a decent size cam to put in there that would give me a little over 420hp with the LS6 heads but have no lope? (wife)

Probably headers and exhaust as well.

Even if I dropped in the stock Z06 cam with the LS6 heads I would have 405 hp (what the 2002 Z06 had) no?

You would need to change the intake as well I believe. The truck has shorter fatter runners in it to help with lower end TQ, while the car version camaro/corvette or whatever would have longer intake runners to make higher rpm HP.

Changing up the RPM band as much as your doing may not be as effective as you think. Weakening the lower RPM TQ, to increase HP, will have a big factor in launching your truck at the line, since it's a lot heavier, and shaped like a brick compared to a car.

A higher stall TQ converter would help that out a little.
