03 Silverado Power Windows???? Please Advise

Hey Guys

Have an 03 Silverado 1500 5.3l ext cab long bed.

 

In last month noticed my window going down and up slower and slower. It would almost have trouble first engaging to go down. As the days progressed it got worse to the point I had to help it up and finally Leave it in the UP position.

 

Currently it doesnt move at all, wont even struggle to start going down. Before it was completely unmoveable, a friend of mine who knows a little about cars said it looks like something was out of track...

 

Please advise me how to check..or what the most common problem I'm describing is on these 03 silverados.

 

any help would be greatly appreciated

I had the same problem with my truck. If the motor still seems like it is trying, then the cable that moves it up and down probally broke and jammed in the housing for it. I had to have it replaced by a shop becasue it seemed like a pain in the butt. The whole motor assembly had to be replaced and cost me about $245.

Pull the door panel off, mine had a plastic moisture guard behind it, pull it off carefulley so you can put it back when your done,and see what it is, it,s not hard to do, on my 2000 truck, the motor gave out and the track was still good, so I went and bought the motor and replaced it, I had the whole track out to inspect it, and put it back in, took a couple of hours, to hold your wondow up while working on it, I put a rag around a screw driver and wedged the window up.
