Colorado and Canyon?

If you have a Colorado or Canyon, could you please tell me how you like it? I'm thinking of getting one, and would like some opinions. Thanks!

My old man has an 04 Canyon. It's been in for back brake work and he only has 10k on it but he likes it. It will last him a quarter century since he drives at the prudent speed of 40mph wherever he goes.

I like the gauge layout in it but it's too small to fit much in.

I like it alot. The only issue I've had is the fuel gauge, which hasn't really worked since I bought it. I wish I could have spent more and got an x-cab but with a wife and 3 kids, 2 jobs, a house and living in the 2nd highest taxed state in the union it's hard if you want to stay off welfare. I also attend UMA part time so when I saw an ad for an 06 for $11,990 I couldn't pass that up. Overall it's been an awesome truck and my next one when I get out of school will be better but I am a GMC man all the way.

I had a 2005 canyon Crew Cab. I bought it for gas mileage and for the back seat for my kid. I wasn't a bad truck, but I only put 7000 miles on it before I traded it in. I averaged only 16 mpg (mostly freeway) and, at 3 years old, Ben didn't have enough leg room in the back (with his car seat, his fett were agianst the front seat back) Like I said, it wasn't a bad truck, underpowered a little and not even close to the advertised mpg. Traded it for the 2006 sierra. Much better truck all around. Plenty of room, plenty of power(for an old guy) and mileage, averages around 16mpg. THE SAME!!!

I'd say, get a full size!!!

Good Luck

I also have an '06 Sierra Reg Cab WT, Long Bed Like Aaron. I've had mine a year now. V6, 5 Speed. I also Like it a Lot. I paid $1K more for mine than he did, but I have Carpet, Upgraded seats and cruise. I added GMC alloys (from "E" Bay) put in a GM CD (again "E" Bay) Pioneer speakers, Keyless entry, Bedliner, and various trim pieces. BTW, in another thread, you can see why I got rid of the POS General Americrap Tires. All in all, I have nothing but good things to say about my truck.

Agreed. And I don't know this for a fact but it would seem to me that there would be more aftermarket acc. for a 1500 than a Canyon.

It comes down to what you need it for. I go to work and school and haul my atv and canoe around so the full size worked best for me, along with a price I could afford.

I don't own one but everyone who I know who DOES have one says they're alright as long as you're not after great gas mileage or alot of room. Oh, and don't get the 5 cylinder, the 4 will get you better mileage and seem like it's just as peppy.

I've got an 05 Canyon SLE... Great for a daily. It's a crunch to fit more than 2 adults in the extended cab. It's not much of a hauler, but does get the job done well.

As far as gas mileage, It's about the same as my 305 TBI Camaro... 20-22 highway. I've found that shell V-power works well with the inline 5.

23k miles and no problems so far, though I have read somewhere that there is a possibility of a cracked head in the future.

So would it be worth it for me to get a V8 Reg. Cab Silverado, or a Ext. Cab I5 Colorado?

i haave 2003 silverado wife has a 2005 colorado crew z71 with the 5 cylinder

we take her truck on all trips just traveled to ga from in averaged about 25mpg running between 65-75mph I think there is more leg room on passenger side the my silverado she loves the truck, I don't mind driving it at all it has a very good ride & decent power
