Service 4wd Light

Alright i know the Service 4wd message is a message i expect to see on a 4x4 but i have a 2wd GMC Sierra Extended Cab short box. Now i know the message is probably in the PCM if i had any 4wd components but i dont. It has been on for a few hours.

 

I was rolling down the highway and the DIC came up with a "Service 4WD Message" and I was well kinda confused. Can anyone shed any light on why my truck is possesed.

I have never seen this but I seem to recall someone posting here with that same complaint. Seems to me he said he disconnected the battery, reconnected it and it was gone and didn't come back.
