oil capacity 4.3l

hey guys,

i just bought a 2000 silverado and would like to know the oil capacity of the 4.3l engine. I could check it with the dipstick but I would rather know the exact nubers that GM recomends.

My 2000 S10 w/4.3L was 4.5 Qts. I'm gonna guess it's the same in your truck, but double check the manual to be sure.

I cannot understand why buyiers of vehicles do not ask for the owners manual from the dealer or selling owner. Never buy without it. The info contained in them pertains to your vehicle and is very helpful. In the case of GMdealers they can & will order the manual just to close the deal. The selling owner can find it for you if he/she wants to sell.

Do it its part of your vehicle. If not buy one.

it would be nice if everything in this world was perfect... but the fact of the matter is i got a good deal on the truck and the dealership didnt have the manual... case closed.... I am going to buy the shop manuals (the big manuals) anyway.. so in the time being i will ask any questions on this fine forum. can you understand that?

I am pretty sure it is still 4.5 quarts of 5w-30. Just put in 4, run it and recheck it. Add more if needed.
