Suspension and 4WD Questions

I have two separate questions. I have a 1999 GMC Sierra Z71 Extended Cab. It currently has 285x10.50x16R Remington Mud Brutes. I got my torsion bars tightened whenever I got the tires put on but I got my front end re-aligned after the torsion bars were tightened. Now with this being said...

A) My truck rides rough, maybe I'm not aware that it is supposed to ride like this but it seems like every little pebble I can feel. Is it because of the torsion bars being tightened or do i possibly need new shocks?

B) Wheneve I have to engage 4wd i sometimes have to hold it down for like 10 seconds before it will engage but it has never NOT engaged. The check 4wd light comes on randomly whenever I use it but could that have to do with just the switch going out or a loose fuse or what?

I've got the bars cranked up on my truck and it rides rough too. Because of the torsion bar suspension design when you crank them up your essentially stiffing up your front suspension. Your shocks arn't really holding any weight persay, however some are stiffer then others. Mostly your shocks are just there to slow down your suspension travel so it's not speratic.
