Removing fender flares

I just removed the plastic fender flares on my 06 k1500. There is a slight line from the doubble sided tape that I cant get off. Does anyone have any suggestions that wont effect the clear coat?

We use 3M adhesive remover on our cars to remove the striping. Works well. We buy it by the quart at Big A. I'm sure it is available elsewhere.

Goo Gone will take it off too w/o hurting a thing.

sometimes evem from the factory (I took mine off within 48 hours of delivery) the flares rub a little bit, you may need to polish the paint a bit to get rid of everything.

It's probably rubbed into the clear coat. Have someone buff it out but odds are it's not going to come out completely.

He's not talking about sticky stuff, he's talking about the mark it left in the clear coat from the rubbing they did while installed. I've already done this myself, they will have to be buffed out.

Any of you guys selling the flares that you removed?

For the sticky stuff, I've used lighter fluid in the past with great success. If it is marred paint, as mentioned above, you will need to do some buffing.

You can polish on it for a few hours or just have your dealer run the wet sander over the marks for a few seconds.
