Exhaust Cut-out?

Ok, I had an exhaust cut-out on order and they told me it will be Wednesday.

At first I really wanted one, but im not sure if i want to climb under my truck whenever i want to make it loud.

 

Does anybody have one?

How will it sound?

 

Is $67 a good price including installation?

Well, unless you have some serious performance mods, and it's a race car, it's just going to end up making a lot of noise and not going anywhere. Not to mention really annoy anybody around you. Depending on where you put it, you may lose a little, or a lot of low-end torque, which your truck needs to get such a heavy vehicle moving.

 

If you were going to put one on, you'd probably want to look into an eletric cut-out so it you don't have to crawl under your vehicle.

Thanks, I know youre right about that. But I still feel the need to have a really loud truck at certain times for some reason. I guess my Magaflow aint doin it.

Oh well, I can live with it.

 

And those electric ones are EXPENSIVE! Man, I wish I could afford one of those. Pretty neat invention.

I think im just gonna save that $70 and put it toward tires.

The tires is what I would do. Anytime you cut into your exhaust you're inviting rust, especially with cheap parts.

Not only will it be loud but it will sound like crap, its not a race motor with a big cam and open headers that sounds sweet. Chances are you will through codes like crazy with the open exhaust, no back pressure= bad for the motor and very hard on stock valves.

I was planning on getting cut outs, but not now, Just got duals and thats perfect for me
