Brakes - Pedal Almost Goes To Floor

Ok..My brake pedal almost goes to the floor...unless I pump it 3 times, then it feels normal(but problem will return a few seconds after releasing the pedal)

I have replaced all 4 calipers, as well as the master cylinder.

Do I not know how to bleed brakes or do I have some other issue? Maybe try and re-bleed once again?

I just dont understand how 'pumping' the pedal makes it temporarily feel normal again.

This is on a 99 Sierra....Ext.Short. w/ 5.3L. ...and 194 000 KM

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!!!

could need a bleeding or one of your wheel cylinders if your truck has drums could be leaking like my truck was. could also be out of adjustment enough too

Ah.....mike, if your driving this vehicle with this condition.....Please STOP!!!!!

Technically, you have no brakes.

You my not only kill/do severe bodily harm, to... yourself, but also to passengers/other drivers/pedestrians.!!!!

If you don't know enough about bleeding brakes, pay a garage to do it for you, and have it towed there.

If you do have an accident, you may as well, kiss your life as you know it, goodby... :D

Sorry, about being so harsh, if your a young buck, I'm just trying to help you to get to be an old one.

Let me do some research, I'll get back.

And oh yah...its a 1999 NBS...so it has 4 wheel disk brakes.

you shouldnt have to pump them at all. sounds like there is air in them someplace

Ok, First Ill add that there is no fluid leakage..as there is as much in there now as there was a week ago. And I still have almost 100% braking power....I just have to put push the pedal a little lower than I should have to. (although I guess it might feel a little bit softer than it could...but its probably just as soft as any other GM brake pedal out there)

Im I describing here the symptoms of air in the lines? I dont know how there could be..I bled them a few times and not noticed any changes in the pedal travel.

Is there maybe something in the ABS controller that could effect this?

Can somebody explain what the "pumping" action is doing?

And kind of a random question...how come GM brakes are always "spongy" compared to dodge pickups?

Thanks for helpin out!
