What About This Buy?

I need a truck for landscaping work this summer. Towing/hauling and such. This will also be my daily driver. I found a 2004 Silverado base Model at loca dealership; or should I say "Stealership." It has just under 89K on it and has the 4.8. 5spd manual, 4x4. Is there anything I might need to watch out for on this truck? I assume it has 3:42's. I reckon that will pull what i want. I'll be upgrading the tires to 265/75 when these wear out. They are the 245/75. First thing I'm gonna do if I get it is to crank to torsion bars so it sits level. What gears do you think it has? It's not the Z71.

That sounds like a pretty decent deal. Id shoot for 8 out the door with taxes title and licensing. That should be a good price, its still a good price at 8600

I might see if I can get 8500 tax and crap included with a timing belt change. It's about that time isn't it?

A 5spd is better for towing than auto automatic do to more low end power is it not?

Id ask for maybe a new fuel filter, trans flush, serpentine belt, oil/filter, air filter, and maybe new pads/rotors. Everything else should be fine

Oh okay. My 4Runner has a timing belt and it is a 98. I thought older vehicles had chains. Newb accusation. I won't have to worry about that then I suppose...

'm gonna take it to my work tomorrow. I work in a garage. Have my man Marvin check it over. I'll probably do a tranny flush at work if they wont do one at the dealer.

Seems like a good deal, and no real serious repairs either. I'd certainly give it a good look. It should get pretty decent mileage with that drivetrain too.
