All of a sudden I'm getting 2 more MPG.... they must've made the switchover to summer blend gas over the last few weeks.......

Mine seems to be going up as well, but I was hoping it was still just breaking in (1300 miles) I'm not sure if they have switched around here (Delaware) yet.

In your case you may have a little of BOTH going on.......

Unless your way down south they probably haven't changed but when they do the price will jump up, its most likely the warmer weather helping fuel economy.

Got my truck last may and was getting 16mpg city, this winter I hit a low of 12mpg, took the sandbags out the other week and went up to 13.5mpg, still watting for summer blend to come back (East Iowa). Also in december I went form the goodyears that were on my 04 to some Firestone A/T so I am instered to see how much they affect the mpg.

Mines gone up about 1mpg(and climbing .1mpg every 2-3 days)....but I do mostly rural/side streets, with maybe 100 miles/wk highway. I put a truck cap on, so was thinking it may have been that. Might be summer blend too.

colder air - air density is greater requiring more fuel = more HP = less mpg

warmer air - air density is less requiring less fuel = less HP = more mpg

other factors of course, during colder months you are warming the engine much longer to defrost windows etc. idling = 0 mpg

winter/summer blend as well as other variables.
